Hi all
I was asked by a colleague to make a birthday card for her sister, I always ask what they like etc and was told "include the words "miss you lots", nothing too girly or flowery and no cute images" one tall order for me that! This is not my usual style but I quite enjoyed making it.
This is what I came up with, my colleague was really pleased with it as her sisters fave colours are red and black, phew!
and the inside...
I rarely use peel offs but as I was told she likes Champagne I had some peel offs which fit the bill. I coloured in the "champagne" and then used clear heat embossing all over the "cut out" parts.
Funny this was when I gave the card to my colleague she said it is lovely but do you kno the "happy birthday" is upside down, I thought thats impossible I am a bit dense sometmes but surely I couldn't do something like that hahaha.... well no I hadn't she was holding the card on its side (portrait)!!!!!!

Another teacher thank you card
Hi all
Here is the second teacher thank you card, this time it is for my daughters teacher Mrs Saeed who my daughter describes as "dresses fancy" LOL! She is a lovely teacher and my daughter has really come out of her shell whilst under the guidance of Mrs Saeed!
I also decorated the inside and adapted a teacher poem to incorporate the teachers "self confessed love of bling" LOL!!!
The backing papers were free with a craft magazine, orange polka dot ribbon papermania, Magnolia Tilda with slate stamped image coloured with pro markers and whispers pens, green ribbon reused from Lush gift wrapped packaging, prima flowers, "rose", sentiment and everything else from my ever growing stash!!! Oh, almost forgot nestabilities frames 1 and scalloped circle.
I am entering this card into a few challenges this week:
Trimcraft - Sketch challenge
Trimcraft weekly challenge - Recycled (reused ribbon from a package from Lush)
Just Magnolia - Buttons
Pile it On - Mostly orange and combine with at least one other challenge
Allsorts challenge blog - one of anything
2 red bananas - "Reduce, Recycle and Reuse" (again I reused the green ribbon from a bath bomb gift wrapped package from Lush - the ribbon still smells all yummy LOL)
365 cards - You raise me up!
Thanks for looking!

Quick card!
Hi all
Managed to get a quick card done today after work and before the kids came home! This is a Pink Petticoat image which I received in a swap, Swiss dots embossing folder and magazine freebies for the flower ribbon and backing papers. The image I coloured with Whispers and water colour pencil and highlighted with Glamour Dust for a bit of sparkle.

Thank you card for my sons teacher
Hi all
Mixed weather today, started off lovely and sunny, then as soon as my washing was nearly dry the heavens opened! Now though it is hot and sunny again.... I can't keep up with it!
I have made this card following another sketch by Lee-Ann on Trimcraft.
Not sure what I did before I was introduced to working from sketches though as they make life so much easier when planning layouts.
I used the PC to create the backing paper text and coloured the text in using pencils and Whispers pens. When I had put the backing paper on the card my son kindly pointed out that I had missed number 5 off the bottom row... wonder if Mrs Pyke will notice! Whiff of Joy Oakley stamp was used and coloured in using watercolour pencils, usually he is holding a wooden plaque but today I made it into a blackboard, embellishments are die cut, ribbon another freebie from a magazine!
I am also entering it into the Whiff of Joy Challenge which is 3 patterned papers, 3 flowers and 1 ribbon, although I replaced the flowers with apples, I hope this is ok. If not I enjoyed making it anyway!
Thanks for looking and I welcome your comments.
