Yet another challenge card and some luck came my way!!

Hi all

Well after having a rough few weeks life has a funny way of turning around... I came home from work today to find out I won yesterdays Blog Candy from the lovely Jude at Crafts International, it is a large square Woodware punch.... whoo hoo how lucky am I??

Pop on over to to Judes blog to find out more about her fundraising for Alzheimer's (click the blinkie on my sidebar to take you to the post.

On to the card....

This card was made for the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge which was to use orange, teal and pink.

Not sure if I really like the outcome, I think it is a bit bright and busy for my taste, but hey ho time is not on my side AGAIN!! So I will have to live with it. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday I had decided to submit a different card for the DT call but time was not my friend this weekend!! Oh well, wish me luck -)

2 Redbananas challenge this week is "Stripes and Dots", don't they look FAB together!

I used:

Whiff of Joy stamp coloured with Pro Markers
Free backing papers from a magazine
Ribbon and ric rac from stash
Sentiment stamp again free with a magazine

Thank you card for my sons teacher

Hi all

Mixed weather today, started off lovely and sunny, then as soon as my washing was nearly dry the heavens opened! Now though it is hot and sunny again.... I can't keep up with it!

I have made this card following another sketch by Lee-Ann on Trimcraft.

Not sure what I did before I was introduced to working from sketches though as they make life so much easier when planning layouts.

I used the PC to create the backing paper text and coloured the text in using pencils and Whispers pens. When I had put the backing paper on the card my son kindly pointed out that I had missed number 5 off the bottom row... wonder if Mrs Pyke will notice! Whiff of Joy Oakley stamp was used and coloured in using watercolour pencils, usually he is holding a wooden plaque but today I made it into a blackboard, embellishments are die cut, ribbon another freebie from a magazine!

I am also entering it into the Whiff of Joy Challenge which is 3 patterned papers, 3 flowers and 1 ribbon, although I replaced the flowers with apples, I hope this is ok. If not I enjoyed making it anyway!

Thanks for looking and I welcome your comments.

Sketch challenge card

I have been busy today as I had 2 of my nephews as well as my own 4 kids! Still when they went out with my husband and my nephews went home me and my daughter had some crafting time which was great!

I had entered Lee-Anns layout challenge over at Trimcraft I had forgotten to make the card until I got a gentle nudge and reminder from Lee-ann hahaha. I made this card in no more than half an hour and the glue was still wet when I took the photo LOL!!!

I find it really fun to follow a sketch and to see everyone elses interpretation on the same sketch!

The card is using free backing paper, DCWV (Nana's Nursery) green polka dots and strawberry cardstock, Whiff of Joy stamp and sentiment, punched daisy from the polka dot cardstock.

Thanks for looking, I am really pleased to 1) be able to make a card in such a short amount of time as I usually faff about with papers, flowers etc that I discover in my stash LOL and 2) that although it was rushed it actually turned out OK!!

Whiff of Joy card for sketch challenge

I was SUPPOSED to be working on a baby girl paper bag album for my sisters friend, BUT... started getting the urge to use the WOJ stamps, you know how it is, you sit at the crafting table, surrounded by all your lovely stash and something amongst it all catches your eye which you simply MUST use LOL!!!

So... here is what I made using the new Whiff of Joy Summer collection stamps. I (kind of) followed Lee-Anns (from http://www.trimcraft.co.uk/) sketch for the layout. To make a change from using flowers I used the strawberry stamps which came with the stamp set, coloured them in using brush markers then put 3 layers of clear embossing powder on them. I think they look quite effective! Funnily enough I am allergic to "real" strawberries though.

Thanks for looking!

Paperbag Album

Hi all

Well I am quite chuffed with myself, over on Trimcraft forum Jude arranged a New Year Swap of a paperbag album on the theme of "Friendship".

Well having never even seen one before I undertook the mammoth task of decorating 10 pages (including the front and back cover). I was late finishing the album missing the deadline by nearly 2 weeks... luckily my swap partner LavenderCards had a lot of patience with me!

Here is a matching card I made using a Penny Black stamped image from Katherine at LavenderCards.

Here is the front cover:
It was a lot of work to complete the album with hidden pockets, tags and surprises!

I used Bazill Bling, papers are mainly DCWV Floral Prints, Papermania Amethyst and loads of different stamped images including Whiff of Joy, Magnolia Tilda, hÄnglar & stÄnglar, prima flowers and lots of embellishments from my stash!!!
